Reflection Eight-12/15/16

I know this is very early from the last reflection, but I have to do this. This is a reflection of my year at mosaic.

Reflection Seven-12/13/16

Let's begin. As of right now, it's finals week. In other words, ultimate stress, sadness, and memes. So... Many... Memes... Anyways, onto my mousetrap bolt. Today was the due date for the third and final project. Making a mousetrap powered car that moves two meters, stops, and fires an attached mousetrap powered catapult three meters into a bucket. We absolutely failed. My partner and I didn't work as much as we should have, and our ideas all failed. It was miserable. Anyways, it was still kinda fun.

Reflection Six-12/06/16

Jacob and I just finished the second project. This time, it was a catapult.

Reflection Five-11/22/16

So this is a reflection about a bolt I am doing. The assignment was to make a mousetrap powered car that went 9 meters, then stopped. My partner, Jacob, and I started the assignment off strong. We had the idea to just have a small car, with axles made of straws, and wheels made from Cd's. We chose this design because it was the first one that came to mind. It worked, except for one thing. The axles didn't work. We fixed it, but then something else didn't work. This kept on going until our car was covered in tape and hot glue, for, and I quote, "Torque and Stability." This was one day before it was due, at the end of the day. I was gone the next day, and there was no way we would have succeeded in the car, so Jacob took it home and fixed it.

Reflection Four-10/26/16

Well. I've been so busy with work that I forgot to update this page. Here it is. We started a new inquiry block. I started with a pretty crappy question, which was 'How might we act to get a job?' I know, confusing. Anyways, I was researching this question when I came across something. Something I wondered when I was doing my second inquiry question. I found the answer, or at least part of it, to the question of why we have survival instinct. That's my new inquiry question. I also have a second one about the muscle mass of males vs. females. I'm doing that one with a friend, Jacob. Anyways, back onto the survival instinct one. I really like this question because if I can answer it, I think it may lead to new information on how the world began and why there's life on it. Why we exist. I'm researching it as I type this, but I'll try to make another post soon, this one with more information.

Reflection Three-10/3/16

I haven't put anything here for a while. I've just been flooded with work recently. I had to panic to make a case for speech and debate, then work on my presentation that's taking place on 10-5-16. I also have at least seven things to read. Two of which are 300+ page books that are about Roman, Greek, and Norse mythology. The other five books are old books, therefore in old english, and those will get me AP Lit credits. Yay. I have so much to do...

Reflection Two-9/8/16

Could you believe that imitating someone is actually quite advanced. It's not just 'monkey see, monkey do'. It's a very complicated process powered by mirror neurons. Mirror neurons are neurons that let you learn, then imitate what someone does. Imitating someone is complicated not just because of how it happens, but what it is. Human imitation isn't just repeating something someone does. It also means that you understand what they're doing, and sometimes even what they're feeling. This is one of the many interesting things that I've learnt while doing my second inquiry block.

Reflection One-9/7/16

This week has been so productive. I've learnt so much about human psychology and behavior. I understand why people do things so much better now. My old website wasn't that good, so I decided to design this one. It's pretty lit.
